Participants Forum – August 2016

The Rail Manufacturing CRC hosted its Participants Forum session in Sydney’s CBD on August 31, this time inviting a number of rail industry organsations together to consider rail manufacturing priority areas of focus and opportunities for cross-collaboration.

With attendees from UGL, Downer, Bombardier, Sigma, Laing O’Rourke, Faiveley Transport, Tyre Stewardship Australia, the ARA and Metro Trains, the session provided the chance for a candid and open conversation about the big picture issues and challenges being faced across the sector, with attendees developing collaborative plans for a number of strategic areas.

Another key highlight was a presentation from Thinxtra’s Renald Gallis about making railways smarter through the use of world-leading technology, and an overview on the latest ARA news from CEO Danny Broad. Thanks to our participants for generously sharing their knowledge and expertise, we look forward to seeing any new opportunities that come from the session.
